Originally broadcast in 1967, the serial was broadcast in the US in 1972 and Susan Hampshire won a 1973: Emmy Award for Outstanding Continued Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Drama/Comedy – Limited Episodes) for her performance in Vanity Fair.
