Five people are killed in a freak accident when a lofty rope bridge collapses. A priest journeys to discover if there was a divine reason for this bloody disaster. Set in Lima, Peru, during the 18th century and based on the Thornton Wilder novel.

Note: This film received very poor reviews, but is listed here because the “film’s shooting locations are exquisite. The sets are stunning. The costumes are gorgeous. The actors are superlative.” Still, very few liked the film as a whole. Perhaps good for Georgian era costume research?
