In the middle of the 18th century, France slowly relinquished the territory of Canada and François the Adventurer fell madly in love with beautiful Marie-Loup. This young couple opposed the tumult of history with pure passion. Their moving, desperate struggle is at the core of this epic fresco. Faced by the scheming and betrayals fate throws in their path, they’ll survive, love each other and prove that the power of feelings can triumph over the cowardice of men.

Set in the Georgian era in 1759 against the backdrop of the struggle between England and France to control Canada.

“Star-crossed lovers…hypocritical clergy and corrupt politicians…history writ small… Plays like a reasonably diverting TV miniseries. Thesps are good enough and obviously sincere, with high marks for Irene Jacob as Le Bigot’s mistress.”- Variety
