Anthropoid (2016)
Based on the extraordinary true story of “Operation Anthropoid.” Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution, was the Reich’s third in command behind Hitler and Himmler and the leader of Nazi forces in Czechoslovakia.The historical drama follows two soldiers from the Czechoslovakian army-in-exile, Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, who are parachuted into their occupied homeland in December 1941. With limited intelligence and little equipment in a city under lock down, they must find a way to assassinate Heydrich, an operation that would change the face of Europe forever.

This 3-episode historical drama focuses on the true story of the divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll in 1963, one of the most notorious, extraordinary and brutal legal cases of the 20th century. Sex, secrets and suspicion – the true story of a duchess publicly shamed in a high society divorce that gripped the nation.
“A Very British Scandal” turns this scandal inside out in order to explore the social and political climate of postwar Britain, looking at attitudes towards women, and asking whether institutional misogyny was widespread at the time. As her contemporaries, the press, and the judiciary sought to vilify her, Margaret kept her head held high with bravery and resilience, refusing to go quietly as she was betrayed by her friends and publicly shamed by a society that reveled in her fall from grace.

Carrie’s War (2004)

Days of Heaven (1978)
One-of-a-kind filmmaker-philosopher Terrence Malick has created some of the most visually arresting movies of the twentieth century, and his glorious period tragedy “Days of Heaven,” featuring Oscar-winning cinematography by Nestor Almendros, stands out among them. In 1910, a Chicago steel worker accidentally kills his supervisor and flees to the Texas panhandle with his girlfriend and little sister to work harvesting wheat in the fields of a stoic farmer. A love triangle, a swarm of locusts, a hellish fire, Malick captures it all with dreamlike authenticity, creating at once a timeless American idyll and a gritty evocation of turn-of-the-century labor.

Delicious (2022)

Wodehouse in Exile (2013)
An all-star cast heads up this intimate BBC film about how author PG Wodehouse came to face a charge of treason during the Second World War, and how this quintessential Englishman became an exile from his own country.
In 1941, Wodehouse was released from internment in Germany and persuaded by the German Foreign Office to record five infamous broadcasts to the USA, wittily relating his experiences of camp life. What had been a hit with his fellow internees was met with anger back in England. The master of fanciful plots had become a pawn in one of the biggest propaganda battles of the war between Germany and the Allies over the entry of the United States into the conflict.

The Empress (Season 2)

Sanditon (Season 2)

Adapted by Simon Rich from his 2013 New Yorker novella Sell Out, An American Pickle stars Seth Rogen as Herschel Greenbaum, a struggling labourer who immigrates to America in 1919 with dreams of building a better life for his beloved family. One day, while working at his factory job, he falls into a vat of pickles and is brined for 100 years. The brine preserves him perfectly and when he emerges in present day Brooklyn, he finds that he hasn’t aged a day. But when he seeks out his family, he learns that his only surviving relative is his great-grandson Ben Greenbaum, a mild-mannered computer coder whom Herschel can’t even begin to understand.
